I am writing this with a heavy heart. This is not the kind of start we wished for. This is not just the muder of an Indian Australian student it is the murder of Humanity. I do not understand that so many young people are getting killed in the most brutal way and Australian Government is silent.
Who are these people ? Why are they killing ? How many will they kill before we standup and take action? What are they going to achieve ? What are they against ?
Are we not this much intelligent to answer the above questions and understand the effect of such incidents or we are caught up in our little little agendas and do not care anymore?
If we do not come together and condemn and take the necessary action then these racial attacks are going to eat our beautiful Australia. Let us not kill humanity. We need to stand up and find the culprits, find the reasons behind these attacks, we need to educate and direct them.. It is lack of education, lack of direction, lack of understanding of the broader picture of life. Let us take responsibility to get rid of this evil called racism from the society to make it a fair society based on values.
Murder of an Indian Student
The murder of 21-year-old Nitin Garg as he made his way to work at a fast-food outlet in West Footscray on Saturday is the latest in a series of attacks on Indians over the past year that have provoked outrage on the subcontinent and drawn charges of racism.
Indian student Nitin Garg was on his way to work when he was stabbed.
Nitin Garg staggered into the Hungry Jack's restaurant, his upper body sliced open by a massive knife wound, knowing he was going to die.
As he pleaded with his co-workers at the restaurant to help him, his lips turned blue. He passed out and died later in hospital.
The 21-year-old Indian student had spent more than $40,000 studying accountancy in Australia and had plenty to look forward to before he was stabbed as he walked through a park in West Footscray, Melbourne, on his way to work on Saturday night
Mr Singh said: "We struggled to save up the money to send him to Australia and then, once he is there, isn't it the responsibility of the Australian Government to protect him?" Describing him as a ''well-behaved, gentle, law-abiding boy with no enemies'', Mr Singh said Mr Garg had spent most of his time with other Indian students and had few Australian friends.
Another uncle, Satish Kumar, was scathing about the Indian Government. "No one is giving us any help,'' he said. ''If India had been tougher last year, the Australians would have been forced to do something. We let them off the hook and it's Nitin who paid the price."
Australian leaders condemned the attacks. The Deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, said overseas students were welcome. ''We unreservedly condemn this kind of violence against anyone,'' she said.
The Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, said Mr Garg's murder was ''tragic'' but rejected suggestions Australia was an intolerant society.

Happy New Year
Happiness, peace and prosperity are wished for by every lip on New Year, but do we really know what inner peace means?Peace lies within us and and we know it too. As we move beyond a year and enter new year, lets all take a resolution to become aware of this peace inside and allow our smiles to reflect the true sign of the prosperity that lies inside us.
Here are seven ways to do it.
1. Give divine a chance, be grateful. This year let the devotion flower to its fullest and give it a chance to work.
Our love, faith and belief should be deep rooted, and then everything else moves on its own. The feeling that "I am blessed" canhelp you overcome any failure. Once you realise that you are blessed, then all the complaints and grumbling disappear, all the insecurities disappear & you become grateful, contented and peaceful.
2. Take time out for yourself. Everyday you are engaged only in gathering information and you do not take out time for yourself to think and reflect. Then you feel dull & tired. A few quiet moments are sources for creativity. Silence healsand rejuvenates and gives you depth and stability.Sometime during the day, sit for a few minutes, get into the cave of your heart, eyes closed, and kick the world away like a ball. Taking sometime out for yourself improves the quality ofyour life.
3. Know life's impermanence. See the impermanence in this life. Millions of years have passed and millions will come and pass. Nothing is permanent. What is your life? It is not even a drop in the ocean.Just open your eyes and ask who am I ? How I am I on this planet? What is my lifetime? Awareness dawns & you will stop worrying about little things. All smallness will simply drop & you will be able to live every moment of your life.If you review the context of your life, the quality of your life improves.
4. Do random acts of kindness. Make a commitment to make this world a better place to live. Do some acts of kindness without expecting anything in return. Service alone can bring contentment in life. It creates a sense of belongingness. When you bring some relief to someone through selfless service, good vibrations come to you. When you show kindness, your true nature which is love and peace comes to play.
5. Make your smile cheaper. Every morning, look at your mirror and give a good smile to yourself. Don't let your smile be snatched away by anybody! Usually, you give your anger freely and smile rarely as though a smile is costly.Make your smile cheaper and anger expensive! When you smile all the muscles in your face get relaxed. The nerves in your brain get relaxed and you become peaceful within. It gives you the confidence, courage and energy to moveon in life.
6. Make Sudarshan Kriya and meditation a part of life. When we have higher goals in life it leads to stress & restlessness which can only be released through a few minutes of meditation and introspection. Meditation gives you deep rest.
Deeper you are able to rest, dynamic you will be in your activity.
What is meditation?
Mind without agitation is meditation.Mind in the present moment is meditation.Mind that has no hesitation,no anticipation is meditation.Mind that comes back home to the source which is peace & joy is meditation.
7. Be a student always. Know that you are a student forever. Do not underestimate anybody. Knowledge may come to you from any corner. Each occasion teaches you & each person teaches you. The world is your teacher. When you are always looking to learn, you will stop underestimating others. Humility will dawn in your life.
WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR.
